Welcome to Mrs. Martin's 2nd grade class!! I'm so excited to have your child in my class this year. I will keep my website updated weekly with assignments and other things we will be doing in class. Graded papers and other important information will come home in the daily folder. Please sign the graded papers each Tuesday, and send back on Wednesday. We have to keep these papers on file in our classroom. We will be utilizing Class Dojo this year, which is an app you can download. This will allow you to see your child's daily behavior and get important messages/reminders from me throughout the year. I will also post pictures of what we are doing in class. Please let me know if I can assist you in joining our class on Class Dojo. You may also e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns! I'm looking forward to a great year!

- Week of December 2
- This week in Reading we will be reading Rosa and Blanca from our reading book. We will be having our Reading and Grammar Test on Thursday, and our vocabulary and Spelling Test on Friday. Please check your newsletter for additional information.
- We will be finishing Topic 9 in Math, which is subtracting. We will be having a test on this Topic on Tuesday. Your student will have a quiz on Monday, and have that as a study guide on Monday night.
- There will be a Timed Test on Addition on Friday that will just be practice.
- We will be starting our study of Christmas Around the World this week. We will be conducting research about a country, and then making a PowerPoint presentation to share information about the country.
- We will be working on learning our addition and subtraction facts through a program called Mastering Math Facts. If you have addition or subtraction flash cards at home, please go over them with your child. These can be found at Dollar Tree, and we also have some available to check out in the Family Resource Center.
- We will be continuing to review the 7 Habits from The Leader in Me. Be sure to ask your students about the habits.
- Please feel free to contact me through Class Dojo or e-mail with any questions.
Spelling Lists are available below. Your students will have an overview in their binder, but these are here for your convenience if you ever need them!
